Support
If something has gone wrong, or you just want to know how a part of the app works, start here.
Get in touch
Write any time. If something misbehaved, say which book you were reading and what you had just tapped. That is usually enough to find it.
- Why do I have to sign in?
-
So that your words, your reviews, and your place in each book follow you to a restored device, or a new one. Quoth signs you in with Apple, and Hide My Email is welcome: the relay address is all the app ever sees. There is no password and no mail from us. If you choose to share your name or email at sign-in, they only label the account row in Settings.
- What syncs, and what stays on the device?
-
Your saved words and phrases, your review cards and review history, which books you have added from the shelf, and how far you have read in each all sync to your account.
Book text never leaves the device. Every book comes from Quoth's own shelf, so a second device downloads it from the shelf rather than from you.
- How do I delete my account?
-
Settings → Delete Account. It removes the account and everything stored under it: saved words, review cards, review history, reading progress. It also clears the saved words and progress from the device.
That is permanent: there is no trash to restore from and no backup to go back to. The books themselves stay on the device, and you can remove those the usual way.
- Which books are included?
-
The Shelf comes with public-domain works in Spanish, arranged from first steps to the classics: folk and fairy tales, then adventure and detective stories, up to Homer, Dante and Shakespeare in Spanish translation. More are added over time.
- Can I read my own books?
-
Not yet. Bringing your own books is coming soon. When it arrives, a book you add is prepared the same way as the Shelf and kept privately in your account.
- Does it work on iPhone?
-
Yes. Quoth runs on iPad and iPhone, and your words and reading places are shared between them through your account.
- Does it read aloud?
-
Yes, in the system Spanish voices, at a speed you set. It reads to you; it never listens. Quoth does not use the microphone.
